Latin Flavor heats up M street

CARNIVALE IN GEORGETOWN
Over 100 friends of Artefacto owner Paul Bacchi flew directly from Brazil to celebrate the recent opening of the newest branch of the sleek furniture emporium that began in South America and now has a location on M Street, N.W. Anthony Lanier, Steve and Becky O'Brien, and Iraklis and Yasmine Karabassis joined over 500 interior designers, architects and tastemakers for exotic lime cocktails, champagne and hot salsa beats, while admiring Artefacto's internationally acclaimed and award-winning modern, minimalist furniture imported directly from the company's flagship store in Sao Paulo.

MARKING A MILESTONE
"This is the capital of the world! There is nowhere better to celebrate our 30th anniversary than right here,"explained Bacchi, whose father started the chain in 1976. Since Artefacto's first store opened, the chain has expanded to 18 other locations in South America, Mexico, Portugal, the Dominican Republic and Florida. www.artefacto.com
