The Washington Ballet’s Spring Gala
Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Washington Ballet
The Washington Ballet celebrated its 60th anniversary of the ballet at a
Kennedy Center gala on April 12. The event honored ballet legend Mikhail
Baryshnikov for his enormous impact on the world of dance. Former first
daughter Chelsea Clinton, who once attended classes at the Washington
School of Ballet, served as honorary chairman. Following a performance
that included excerpts from the company’s current productions, over 500
guests enjoyed dinner and dancing in the Kennedy Center’s atrium.
