The 13th Annual Arena Stage Benefit
It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Congress!

After just a day of rehearsal, an all-star cast including Senator Ted Stevens, Senator Jack Reed and Mayor Anthony Williams entered into the spotlight at Arena Stage. Members of Congress and other notables from around town performed a cute and comical play, which even included a feel-good song to emphasize the need for arts education. Before the performance, The Mandarin Oriental hosted an elegant dinner where Arena Stage honored Senator Ted Stevens and the late Representative Robert Matsui with the American Voice Award for their advocacy of the arts on the Hill. The event raised over $300,000 for Arena Stage, which will help to ensure that children in the local community have the opportunity to experience the arts.
