Substance Makes Style

Washington Life’s Substance & Style Awards sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue once again celebrated some of Washington’s most fashionable and philanthropic residents. After a fashion show from couture designer David Rodriquez, Fox 5’s Laura Evans introduced the deserving honorees: Jan Verhage, David Domenici, Sean Tuohey, Diana Goldberg, Riley Temple, Ludy Green and Alma Powell. Thanks to the help of chair Lisa Gordon Hagerty, the event drew over 250 guests who enjoyed delectable hors d’oeuvres donated by Blackie’s, Cafe Ettore, Chef Geoff’s, 15 Ria, The Colonnade, The Grille, Mie N Yu, Taberna del Alabardero, Oceanaire Seafood, Teatro Goldoni and Zed’s. Proceeds from the event benefited Wired Kids, a non profit dedicated to protecting children from sexual exploitation via the Internet.
