The 2004 Woodrow Wilson Awards
Testament to Public Service
Two Washington power couples were presented with the Woodrow
Wilson Award by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars
on December 2. Sam Donaldson presented the award for Corporate
Citizenship to Marlene and Fred Malek, recognized for tireless contributions
to society. Rep. Jane Harman and Dr. Sidney Harman were also
acknowledged for their years of public service. President Jimmy Carter
spoke to the audience of ambassadors and politicos from both parties and
reminisced about the day he introduced the Harman’s following a meeting
in the Oval Office.
