Courage Cup
Tailgating with Tyra
How much do Washingtonians love polo? Enough to drive an hour to
Poolesville, Maryland, and brave the intermittent weather (one minute sunny,
the next raining) for an afternoon of sipping Oasis wine and socializing with
friends young and old. Many party-goers opted to bring tailgate picnics
that consisted of everything from Whole Foods take-out to two-burner gas
grills (finally, a good use for the H2 Hummer). Supermodel Tyra Banks was
the honorary chair of the first annual Courage Cup on June 19 benefiting
the Work-to-Ride Program, which teaches Philadelphia’s inner city kids to
play polo. Madison Hotel Polo Pro Charlie Muldoon led Team Madison to
handily defeat Team Michelob.
