American Heart Association
Hearts in Bloom
A VIP reception sponsored by PricewaterhouseCoopers and hosted by managing partner Fernando Murias preceded the American Heart Association's annual gala on May 31st at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. Event sponsor Mercedes-Benz paid for a display of a dozen red dresses by top fashion designers on white mannequins. (The dresses are part of the government's "Red Dress Campaign" that was launched by First Lady Laura Bush during Fashion Week in New York to focus attention on heart disease in women).
The Spinners provided the musical entertainment for the over 700 guests; Former Rep. Connie Morella was the evening's special honoree. The heartening sum raised? Over $700,000!
