Fourteen hundred guests packed the WashingtonHilton & Tower for the 16th annual LombardiCancer Center Gala “Passport to Adventure” onSeptember 29. Three-time consecutive Tour deFrance champion and cancer survivor LanceArmstrong received the “Symbol of Courage”award. Former Washington Redskins linebackerand cancer survivor Pete Wysocki emceed, JohnJaffe was awarded the “Symbol of Caring” for hisannual donation of a new car for the gala auction,and Jill Kirkpatrick was presented with “TheMargaret L. Hodges Leadership Award” for hertireless volunteer work. The event raised over$1 million for cancer research.
