Katrina´s Wake

Brewhouse Bash Benefiting Hurricane Katrina Victims

WELCOME BACK
Winston Bao Lord, Ray Regan and Andy Wright gathered friends on September 9 at Dupont Circle’s Brewmaster Castle for one of many Hurricane Katrina benefi ts held in Washington to raise money for the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army.

GHOST SIGHTINGS
The Brewmaster Castle belonged to America’s fi rst brewer, Christian Heurich, who lived to be 102. Guests took tours of the “haunted” castle, while others mingled outside among a tiki-torched lawn. Caretakers report that late at night you can hear someone playing the piano.

FUNDS FLOWING OVER
Hadley Gamble, Ashley Taylor, Steve Andronico, Caleb Ward and other members of D.C.’s younger social set came out to support the worthy cause. The event raised over $5,000 for the hurricane relief eff ort.
