Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah Gala Reception

Exploring Jordan

On October 16th, the embassy of Jordan, under the patronage of Queen Rania, held a gala reception at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, launching the exhibit entitled "Celebrating Jordan's History and Culture". Hosted by Ambassador Karim Kawar and his wife Luma Kawar, the cultural forum featured a series of lectures and a film celebrating Jordan's rich culture.

The youthful Queen Rania is known not only for her striking beauty and glamour, but for her intelligence, grace, and involvement in charities worldwide, including the National Association for the Mentally Handicapped and the Jordan Cancer Society. The gala reception attracted over 400 guests and featured a musical performance by Zade Dirani.
