Charity Works Ball
Once Upon a Time

Whimsical fairy tale decorations, including a replica of Cindarella’s carriage, adorned the National Building Muesum at CharityWorks annual benefit. Over $750,000 was raised to assist the all-volunteer group’s public service and charitable causes. Eighty percent of the money raised this year will benefit See Forever, the non profit that operates the Maya Angelou Public Charter School. Due in part to the assistance of CharityWorks, the school opened a second campus east of the Anacostia River in September to serve over 150 local teens. The remaining 20 percent will be distributed evenly between N Street Village, a shelter for homeless and low-income families; Neediest Kids, which provides at-risk children with school supplies, meals and health care; and the Seed School, D.C.’s public boarding school.
