Austrians Honor Local Arts Philanthropist
Saluting Ina Ginsburg

The government of Austria awarded Ina Ginsburg the “Decoration of Honor in Silver for Services Rendered to the Republic of Austria” on June 16. Austrian Ambassador Eva Nowotny presented the award at a ceremony held at her residence. Ginsburg who was born in Vienna, had a notable career as Washington editor of Interview magazine (published by Andy Warhol), and has served as a long-time board member of the American Film Institute. She was the founder of the European Film Festival at the Kennedy Center.

“Her position in the society of Washington and her excellent relations with the highest echelons of politics, culture and the economy have made her a goodwill Ambassador of Austria and an indispensable support for the work of the Austrian Embassy in Washington,” Ambassador Nowotny said.
