Saks Jandel Holiday Brunch and Fashion Show
Animal Instinct

Sexy safari themes were showcased in December at Saks Jandel’s Annual Holiday Brunch and Fashion Show displaying Donna Karan’s spring collection. The tan and svelte Karan cut her Turks & Caicos vacation short and trekked through the snow to the event and was seen dancing in her seat to the tribal beats that accompanied the fashion show.

Deeda Blair, a long-time member of the Best-Dressed Hall of Fame, chaired the event benefiting the Harvard AIDS Institute, an organization that she co-chairs. The organization is dedicated to raising money to stop the spread of AIDS in Africa and the world. A wide brown leather belt worn as a miniskirt heralded the start of the fashion show, as models strutted by draped in Amazon-inspired looks which merged into city chic and then into exquisite gowns, all of which were in an earthy palette of parchment, pistachio and nutty browns. Following the show, guests clamored around Karan for an in-depth view of the collection as she selected coordinating accessories for the chic crowd to try on.
