In an unprecedented collaboration bet ween Iranian-American Jews, Christians,Moslems, and Zoroastrians (including both Democrats and Republicans,)a group of D.C. and N.Y. attorneys has launched the first national Iranian-American Bar Association (IABA), and recently hosted a reception for afew hundred at the Arts Club of Washington, D.C. to kick off their UnityCampaign.
The IABA is an independent, non-religious, not-for-profit, dedicated toeducating Iranian-Americans about legal developments affecting them, andencouraging their participation in the civic life of the United States. Theevening focused on the mechanics of civic participation as well as currentlypending legislation that could effectively ban the entry of students, tourists andimmigrants from Iran into the U.S.
