Despite Monica's best efforts, thong flashing never caught on as a major trend in Washington,so you can imagine the surprise of the 400 revelers at Meridian House, when the evening'sdancers came out clad in full Carnaval regalia (Vegas-style headdresses, bikini tops,and thongs) for what turned out to be an outstanding and authentic Caribbean danceperformance. It energized the already excited guests who had been sipping champagne anddowning Red Bull while dancing to samba music. The February 28th "Brazilian Celebrationof Life" was put on by the Linden Circle, the Meridian House's young professionals group,whose numbers have grown rapidly since they were established just two years ago.
