Every president since Calvin Coolidge has attended the annualpress event, but this was the first time for Ozzy. Yes, heavymetal rocker and of late, MTV reality hit series star OzzyOsbourne stole the spotlight at the White HouseCorrespondents' Dinner on May 4. Not even the president,vice president, Cabinet secretaries (including DonaldRumsfeld), Walter Cronkite, Paula Zahn, supermodel ChristieBrinkley, Raquel Welch, and Harrison Ford could match themedia feeding frenzy created when Ozzy, accompanied by wifeSharon, made his entrance. In addition to the amusing Ozzy,Drew Carey and President Bush entertained guests with theirremarks, and the president repeated last year's slide presentationformat, with lots of photos of first dog Barney. Some ofthe other famous guests on hand were actresses Glenn Close,Dana Delany, Shannen Doherty, and Mariska Hargitay, aswell as Arianna Huffington, Sam Donaldson and wife JanSmith, Connie Chung, and Fox media star Greta van Susteren.
