George and Kellyanne Conway with JesseThe moment the camera and lighting were set up, and before our humanmodels were ready, Jesse had hopped up on her chaise lounge, ready forher close-up. Judging from all the photographs in the Conway home, thiswas nothing new for this Welsh Corgi. Jesse will turn 10 on January 2nd , andthe Conways, who were wed last April, are planning a birthday bash completewith a cake from celebrity baker Sylvia Weinstock. George and Kellyanne dividetheir time between their Vienna home and New York City. George does mergers andacquisitions for Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz in Manhattan, where he madepartner at the remarkably young age of 30. Kellyanne is the CEO and founder ofthe polling company, which has offices in Washington, DC, New York, and SanFrancisco. She is perhaps best known for her conservative perspectives andcommentary on hundreds of television shows including ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN,MSNBC, the Fox News Channel, and countless radio shows and print stories.

Congressman Mike Thompson and Janet Thompson with KatieCalifornia’s first district, which elected Mike Thompsonas their representative in 1998, includes all of Napa, Lake,Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte Counties as wellas portions of Solano and Sonoma Counties. It shouldhave been no surprise that his office would be crowdedwith the finest wines that northern California vineyardshave to offer. Thompson is a former small vineyard ownerand co-founder and co-chair of the Congressional WineCaucus, which consists of 112 U.S. Senators and Housemembers. Thompson was the first Vietnam veteran electedto California’s State Senate. He is a member of the HouseArmed Services Committee where he serves on the MilitaryInstallations and Facilities Subcommittee and the MilitaryResearch and Development Subcommittee. He is also amember of the House Agriculture Committee, the NewDemocratic Coalition and the Blue Dog Coalition, which iscomprised of moderate Democrats committed to bipartisanproblem-solving. Katie, a chocolate lab, frequents theCongressman’s office, especially on days when Janet isworking as a family nurse practitioner at Sibley Hospital. TheThompsons have two grown sons, one son is a firefighterand the other a police officer. Believe it or not, the cute kidin the picture is the Thompson’s grandson, Chad.

Chris and Kathleen Matthews with ShaneThis news duo has been happily married for 22 years and havethree children Michael, Thomas, and Caroline. Shane, the mostrecent addition to the Matthews family, was won at a charityauction nine years ago, and has been trying to climb on thefurniture ever since. The Matthews were photographed intheir picturesque Victorian home in Chevy Chase after bothhad returned from challenging days at the office. Kathleen,an award-winning reporter in the nation’s capital for 25 years,told us how much her life and schedule have changed nowthat she is no longer doing the 11 p.m. news (she still anchorsthe 5 and 6 p.m. news for WJLA Channel 7). It frees up herevenings for, among other things, supporting the manycharities that she is associated with, which was no doubt, oneof the many reasons she was named a “Washingtonian of theYear” for 2002. Chris, host of “Hardball” on MSNBC, was off toCleveland the next day for his popular “Hardball College Tour,”but was reveling in delight at being immortalized that day.He had been included in the 20th Anniversary Edition of TrivialPursuit. We promised not to give away the question, but we allknow who the “Mighty Mouth” is.

Gunner wasadopted last year from Juleanna’s sister-in-law, who had found him living in thewild, eight years ago, with frostbite on hisears. A shy dog, he often stays upstairsduring the numerous cocktail parties thatthe Weisses have hosted since movinginto their new Kalorama home. With twoadorable children Will and Blythe, and athird one on the way (Juleanna was fivemonths pregnant when this photo wastaken,) this power couple was definitelyin need of grander living space. Juleanna,now a lobbyist at Clark & Weinstock, hasworked with some of the most powerfulmen in politics today, serving as PressSecretary to Vice President Dick Cheney,Mayor Rudy Guiliani, presidential candidateSteve Forbes, and as a senior advisor tothen-Senator John Ashcroft. Jeffrey,alsoa lobbyist, has been with Black, Kelly,Scruggs and Healey for two years.
