Betty Scripps Harvey hosted a buffet dinner on April 3rd honoring SwedishAmbassador Jan Eliasson and his wife Kerstin, and the members of the DiplomaticDinner Committee for the Washington Opera Ball. Mrs. Harvey is thisyear’s General Chairman of the black-tie event, which will take place at the Swedishembassy residence on June 8th. Each year, the Opera’s Ball is preceded by private dinners,ranging in size from ten to thirty people, hosted by ambassadors at their officialresidences throughout the city.
