A special exhibition and reception honoring the talents of Peruvian-born artist Alessandra Davilatook place on March 25th at Café Milano in Georgetown. Approximately 125 friends, fansand well-wishers dropped by to toast Ms. Davis with champagne while admiring her still life oilsof food, table and floral arrangements, birds and other subjects. Painting still life and portraits inthe Classical Realism style, Ms. Davila was schooled in the techniques of the Old Mastersat the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore. She also received early formal training in drawingand architecture at the Saint Luc School of Architecture in Brussels, and holds degrees inFine and Commercial Arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Theexhibit ran through April 7th.
