A festive buffet accompanied a fashion show spotlighting the best ofSaks Jandel, from evening wear to casual sportswear, on December10th. Co-hosted by Alma Powell, Sandy Brock and Marcia Carlucci,Saks contributed ten percent of the proceeds from purchases to supportthe Best Friends Foundation. A school-based character-building programfor adolescent girls, the program lasts 7–8 years and is intense (atleast 110 hours of student involvement each year). Some of the manyservices offered include: instructional curriculum; fitness and nutritionclasses; one-on-one mentoring; cultural events; jazz choir or dancetroupe; summer internships; and college scholarships.
