Balanchine Celebration at the Kennedy Center | Keeping Company with George Balanchine The Kennedy Center celebrated a two-week festival of choreographer George Balanchine’s ballets with anopening night production and party. Balanchine, one of the world’s most influential and acclaimedchoreographer’s died in 1983. The celebration, organized by the Kennedy Center’s artistic advisers fordance, Charles and Stephanie Reinhart, included performances by The San Francisco Ballet, Suzanne FarrellBallet company, Miami City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Joffrey Ballet of Chicago and the Bolshoi Ballet.This was a unique occasion of its kind to gather companies and works under one roof.
