The Women's Board of the American Heart Association National Capital Area Council recently hosted its52nd annual Valentine Luncheon and Fashion Show. Titled “All About Romance,” the event featured aselection from the best collections for Spring 2000, presented by Rizik’s from such designers as MaxMara,Carolina Herrera, Gianfranco Ferre, and Kay Unger. Following the elegant luncheon, special Valentineswere drawn for several lucky guests, who received door prizes including two roundtrip tickets aboardUSAirways, an elegant dinner for six prepared by Occasions Caterers, and four V.I.P. box-seat ticketswith picnic dinners at Wolf Trap. The Women’s Heart Board Luncheon, which raises money for heart-diseaseresearch, is the oldest annual fundraising event among nonprofit groups in the nation. All proceeds fundcardiovascular research programs as well as fellowships in the metropolitan area.
