A black-tie gala to benefit Young Concert Artists of Washington was held at the French ambassador’s residence on the evening of October 24th. Internationally acclaimed French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet serenaded guests with a concert followed by a reception and live auction of such items as a stay at a Scottish Highlands castle which was once the home of Andrew Carnegie. Robert Aubry Davis was the guest auctioneer. The Young Concert Artists Series at the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater has introduced great artists to Washington audiences since 1979.
