Washington, D.C. – Fresh from her halftime Super Bowl triumph last Sunday, The Material Girl returns.

Washington DC’s Verizon Center announced Tuesday that Madonna will be performing one show, one night only, on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 8 pm at 601 F Street, NW. Tickets go on sale next Monday, Feb. 13 at all Ticketmaster locations.

“Madonna is having a huge party and everyone’s invited,” Sheila Francis, the Director of Event & Venue Communications of Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced Tuesday.

The 53-year-old pop sensation made the announcement shortly after performing at Super Bowl XLVI during the the Bridgestone Halftime Show on Feb.. 5, a performance visualized by Cirque du Soleil and Jamie King. Madonna was joined onstage by special guests LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and perhaps most notably, by Cee Lo Green.

NBC officials later announced that the performance was the most watched Halftime show ever, with 114 million viewers.

Madonna is set to release her 12th studio album in January, “MDNA” on March 26.

In 2007, it was announced that she had signed an unprecedented US $120 million contract with concert producer Live Nation. Madonna has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the world’s top-selling female recording artist of all time by the Guinness Book of World Records.

The Madonna 2012 World Tour begins May 29, 2012 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The shows will include arenas, stadiums and special outdoor sights including the Plains of Abraham in Quebec and a return visit to South America as well as Australia where she has not performed in 20 years.  The tour will stop in 26 European cities including London, Paris, Milan and Berlin.

The first of 26 North American shows is scheduled for Aug. 28 in Philadelphia at Wells Fargo Center and includes a Sept. 6 show in New York’s Yankee Stadium, a Sept. 23 show in Washington, D.C’s Verizon Center and an Oct. 10 performance at Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale beginning February 10th in Tel Aviv and the United Kingdom, with North American tickets going on sale beginning February 13th.
