Menswear has never looked so appealing! Gentlemen AND Ladies, please take note.

Designers Perry Ellis, Ruffian, and Rebecca Minkoff presented us with three very different takes on menswear. As you know, Perry Ellis is a menswear brand so it was a no brainer that the clothes would be for men. Nonetheless, PE’s collection was strong yet subtle and further proved that a casual man can still be a stylish man. From the structured jackets, to the knit sweaters, PE showed a very sexy side of a man; one who knows how to accessorize. From the two-tone gloves, to the sock & boot combination, the collection had a nice balance that can appeal to a broad range of men.
Ruffian on the other hand, took menswear to a glamorous place! The collection, while masculine in genre, was actually very beautiful and delicate. I absolutely loved the embellished black jacket with the tuxedo shirt and bow tie. The hair and make-up contributed to the femininity of the looks but didn’t let it lose it’s masculinity.
Rebecca Minkoff showed that menswear-inspired fashion doesn’t have to be as literal as Ruffian, but can still be fun and wearable. So ladies, when you start to prep your Fall 2011 closet, think about what pieces you can steal (other than the boyfriend jean that is) from your partner’s closet.
